Everything you need to know

Exact canvas render — free

The crossword is solved and drawn locally: exact letters, exact crossings, real scrabble point values, exact caption. Free and instant — misspellings and extra tiles are impossible by construction. Toggle AI polish (1 credit) to add texture and atmosphere — the exact tiles and caption are redrawn on top afterwards.

The source layout, exactly

The default: JAMES horizontal, RACHEL crossing its shared A, OLIVIA crossing RACHEL's shared L, LUCAS crossing OLIVIA's shared A — dark reddish-brown wood tiles with white letters and real point values, white hearts + snowflakes, and "The William Family / 2026" in elegant white script.

8 holiday scatter themes

Christmas (hearts + snowflakes), Valentine’s, Halloween, Easter, Celebrations, Autumn, New Year, and Birthday — one tap swaps the scatter, the matching palette, a themed watercolour scenic backdrop (snowy pines, rose sunset, moonlit night, spring meadow, firework sky, autumn forest, starry night, birthday sky), the solid background, and a themed caption (Merry Christmas!, Happy Halloween!, With All Our Love…).

21 scatter elements

Fine-tune any theme or build your own mix — plus a Watercolour backdrop chip row (None + the 8 scenes) under Background — hearts, snowflakes, bats, pastel eggs, fireworks, maple leaves, confetti, balloons, gold stars, and more.

Script + year caption

Elegant script below the tiles ("The William Family" default × 13 presets incl. the holiday greetings) with the year in a slightly bolder sans-serif (2026 default × 4 + None) — and **colour chips for both lines** (Auto, White, Cream, Black, Gold, Red, Burgundy, Sky, Pink, Sage; Auto = white on dark backgrounds, dark on cream).

Your names, crossword-arranged

Add as many names as you like — the first runs horizontally across the top; each following name has **crossing controls**: pick which earlier name it crosses, then pick the shared letter from chips showing only letters both names actually share. Each name also has a **direction toggle** — the base picks horizontal or vertical (rotating the whole board); others pick Auto ⟂ or an explicit direction (colliding picks fall back to perpendicular automatically).

Tips

Good to know

Intersections need shared letters. Each name crosses a previous one at a letter they share — names with no letters in common with the others will still render, just less woven.

Themes set scatter + palette together. Picking Halloween swaps in pumpkins, bats, and stars AND the Halloween Night palette — then you can override either independently.

Spelling is guaranteed by construction. The tiles are drawn on canvas from your list — the AI never draws letters; in polish mode the exact tiles are simply redrawn on top of the restyled scene. Every name is sent letter-enumerated (“RACHEL” = 6 tiles: R, A, C, H, E, L) with a critical no-extra-letters clause, so the board spells your names exactly.

Names render upper-cased on the tiles, exactly as spelled in your list; the caption is quoted verbatim (and covered by the spelling guard too).

Credit cost — same as a standard generation.
